A cheeky little Brumby skirt
Howdy y’all. I recently whipped up this cute little skirt especially for wearing to The Handmade Fair a couple of weeks back. It’s a really easy pattern by Megan Nielsen called Brumby skirt.
It was dead easy to sew – and quick too! Which was good because I left it really last minute to make this (as is my way!). I followed instructions from the Megan Niesen app to make this, which was really clear and helpful. I quite liked following instructions in that way, though I do think I prefer having paper instructions. Only because it was occasionally a pain to keep unlocking my phone.
The fabric for this skirt was from my fantastic local, Backstitch. It was lovely to work with – a light/medium weight light denim.
I chose to make a very simple short skirt from all of the variations of Brumby. And I went for the style without pockets. And I also tightened the waist band to fit snuggly at my waist – so that I could wear it high-waisted.
I love how girly I feel in this skirt. Another one that you can’t help but twirl in! I loved wearing this at the Handmade Fair too – though I did manage to flash a couple of grannies before getting on the train, when a gust of wind blew the skirt right up! A proper Marilyn Monroe moment. Can’t take me anywhere! 😉
I hope you like my posh new DMs too. They’re my pride and joy!
TTFN.
